Hydration, just thinking about a water shortage can make you thirsty. On average humans can go about three days without water, assuming the ambient air temperature is warm. But our body begins to self manage water allocation soon after it senses thirst. Recall when you have been really thirsty and you take a drink of water, it seems half of it is sucked up by cells on the way down to the stomach.
